Technical Advantages The SmartPlug™ is highly piggable, typically through 1.5 D bends and through flexible pipes.
It uses an advanced wheel system that centers the tool in the pipeline and has been field-proven in distances of 240 km.
TDW Offshore Services' extensively field-proven tetherless communication system allows high-precision and reliable setting and monitoring of the tool. The SmartPlug™ allows pressure testing of the pipeline modifications.
Customization The SmartPlug™ is module-based, and can easily be tailored to suit the customers' needs.
Safety features The SmartPlug™ is designed to self-lock in the set position, thus being fail-safe as long as there is delta pressure across the tool. The entire SmartPlug™ system has received a Type Approval Certificate from Det Norske Veritas (DNV). Each individual SmartPlug™ has a DNV Product Certificate.
The SmartPlug™ has failsafe unsetting systems so that even if all communication fails the SmartPlug™ can still be unset and recovered. |
